The undead pumpkin trend
Happy Halloween, everyone!
Today, I think I found a Minecraft Easter egg!
I was preparing to test a custom bow in my test world, and noticed a skeleton wearing a pumpkin helmet in my spawner pen. I hit F2, and continued on with my usual whereabouts.
I set the time to night, and realized more skeletons and zombies were wearing pumpkins! Even a spider jockey! (But seriously, why do I find so many jockeys?) I think maybe a fashion trend for the undead has started? I swear I did not hack these on to them!
Know what else? Pumpkin heads keep the skeletons and zombies from burning!
As for me, Gotta look stylish!
Ow! Is is something I said?
Hey, look! Jockey number 2!
Okay, this is hilarious. This skeleton is wearing a jack o' lantern!
Alright, I hope you guys enjoyed seeing this Halloween-only(?) Easter egg! Once again, happy Halloween!
See you all next post. Until then!

Doing some 1.4 stuff in my world
Welcome back to my world, this time in 1.4! Today, I will be showing you how I have taken advantage of the new Minecraft update.
My first goal was to make a zombie grinder so I could try to get some potatoes and carrots, then make a farm for them, because zombies sometimes drop said veggies. Here it is!
Believe it or not, it didn't take long to get a potato and carrot. Thank you, zombies!
Before I built the grinder, I decided to go on a slime hunt, and Demonsplash Tower is practically in the best possible spot for doing so! You could say the place is hoppin' mad with slimes! ;D
Back at Stardust Tower, I decided to decorate the place with some nice flower pots and item frames. Looks nice!
Diamond's coop
While I was doing my usual housework at Stardust Tower, I found some zombie villagers on my mountain, and healed them back into regular villagers! Here's your challenge: Name my villagers! They are two farmers. The one on the left is a "lady", and is interested in wheat. The one on the right is a "gentleman", and likes cooking chicken. (Note: genders are pretend, and only because I wanted certain kinds of names for them.)
I have noticed some of my viewers haven't been able to find where to comment. At the end of a post, there should be a link where it says: (#) comments. Click that to bring up the comment screen. If you can't find that, go to the about me page. If there is no comment box on the about me page, you may need a Google account.
While I was walking home in my tunnels, I realized I was being followed by a skeleton and spider. When I looked through my fence, I spotted a spider jockey! The skeleton was holding an enchanted bow, too! So, I guess I learned that when a spider spawns with the skeleton on its back, the skeleton can use an enchanted bow. I would be happy if someone could put this piece of information on the Minecraft Wiki. If you can, be my guest!
I haven't set up a carrot farm yet, so until then, I am on a pork-free diet. In its place, I guess can live off of steak, which isn't a problem. As for how much steak and beef I have, uuh, I think an over abundance is an understatement. This is just my extra food that I don't need upstairs chest, too! I have another stack of 42!
That's it for today! I hope to get around to that cozy cabin soon, and let's not forget the potato and carrot farm. But for now, see you next post. Until then!

Entering the world of custom map development
Lately, I have been feeling like I want to try my hand at making a custom map, like the ones in Vechs' series, Super Hostile. Today, I thought I'd show off some of my best and/or newest map development-related creations.
First, we have an older one, the Firenut tree. It is, in a nutshell, a ghast fireball turret for you to use, but decorated. That also makes it so you have to figure out what it is, first.
The lore behind it is that they are a tree from the nether, created from a mutated ghast fireball. Firenuts grow fruits that taste moist but extremely spicy, if you even do manage to eat one, and when jerked around too much, will start flying infinitely, until it hits something. When it does, it creates a fiery explosion.
Next, I thought I'd show off a tweak I made to Vechs' anti-bridging bomb design. I found that, the block holds the torch that lights the TNT can be sand, and if you put another sand block on top of it, you can have 5 more blocks of TNT.
My 9-TNT (or ``pine cone``) bridging bomb.
For those of you who have never seen Vechs' video on the bomb, they detect bridging with floating, invisible ladders. Ladders aren't allowed to float in Minecraft, so an adjacent block modification will cause them to fall. When the ladders fall, the bottom sand block falls, and so does the redstone torch, which is keeping another one directly above it off. When the torch turns on, it ignites the TNT, which then begins obeying physics.
Vechs' 4-TNT bomb (left) versus my 9-TNT bomb (right). Not that big of a difference, but mine covers a slightly bigger area.
...Why does mine look like Kirby's face?
Now, let's talk about my model of proximity bomb. Again, this is one of Vechs' concepts. Mine, however, uses TNT spawners to detonate and sense players wandering near it. It is slime-proof, and is more or less as compact as his model.
Here`s a cutaway view. Normally, there`s another layer on top and on the widest sides of the bomb. The iron bars represent the spawner, and the red wool represents TNT. The tripwires are meant to give the player a fair warning that bad stuff is coming when the TNT spawns on them, ignites more TNT due to the hooks pulsing a redstone charge, and also works as an excuse to add more TNT. The glowstone serves the purpose of not letting cave sound effects to play from inside.
Also, please note there`s another tripwire pocket on the other side of the spawner.
When the TNT spawns in on the tripwire, UUhhhh... this happens.
The crater left behind by the bomb. Mwah-hah-hah!
One thing I thought I`d note: the bomb range I`m demonstrating on has three layers of sand, the rest being stone.
The last invention I wanted to show off is the Permatime machine. It uses the minecart technology made by Sethbling. It pulses into a toggle, or T-flip-flop. Every second time the T-flip-flop toggles, a time set command runs, which tends to go off every approx. 4 minutes. The mechanism is encased in two layers of bedrock, and again, the red wool represents TNT. The button in the back is a self-destruct mechanism, which triggers a teleport command, and takes the player to safety.
Well, that's it for today! I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations, and I will be doing more of this stuff in the future.
Wait. here's a map I started a day or two ago, called Slab Search - Midnight pines. The spawn point is the clearing on top of this hill. The lights are redstone torches marking monster spawners.
As always, thanks for stopping by my blog, and feedback/comments are appreciated. See you next post! Until then!

Tour of our Survival server
Welcome back to another world tour! Today, I will be giving a tour of the world that runs on our server.
Here we are at the spawnpoint. Through that archway is Bluesun Village. That is where I will be spending most of this tour.
This is the community center. It is mostly complete, but it needs decorating. I'll get Fire_Cat to do that later.
My idea with the community center is to have a place where friends can meet, and just chill out. Upstairs will be some chests, where you can donate things you don't need, and pick up things you do need.
Upstairs
Across the street is The Stronghold blacksmith. This is Cheffoo's shop. When Fire_Cat2000 and I built this shop, we chose the stronghold theme because Cheffoo likes the underground.
Down there is our mine. No huge caves, but we have found some decent diamond veins, and slimes!
Oh, yeah, and I once fought a spider jockey down there, and won! This is a photo I caught of it.
Moving on, we will be heading past this jungle tree, which is kinda small for its type. We have some places to cover there.
This is Hot Spring Hotel. It has six rooms, and is intended for players to be able to stay here while they have nowhere else to go (e.g. if their house is still being built).
The lobby
Most rooms look the same, so here's an example of an average room.
A view from room #6's balcony at night. Beautiful!
Moving on, this is my friend, Lgamerross' house. Out back is the lake that can be seen from the hotel. Great choice of location, dude!
His house kinda reminds me of an Indev house. For those of you who don't know what that is, an Indev house is a small wooden plank house that would generate around the player when they spawned into the world in Minecraft Indev, an old pre-Alpha development stage. They were removed from the game in the next development stage, Infdev.
Cool! So, the next several locations are up the hill by the mine.
Up here is our house. I live with Cheffoo and Fire_Cat2000.
Here's a photo of me looking at our house Fire_Cat2000 gave me. Good shot, my friend!
Behind me here is Sky resources, up on the mountain top. Fore those of you who didn't see the post where I briefly mentioned Sky resources, this is Fire_Cat's shop. She sells natural things from the surface. She has quite a beautiful orchard out back, where she spends time cutting trees for wood to sell at her shop and what-not.
Back down the hill, this is my shop, Neptune inc. I do building projects for people, and sell building blocks.
Fun fact: did you know the cliff my shop is on is artificial?
The last few destinations are on another side of the Sky Resources mountain. I will be heading counter-clockwise, half-way around it.
About a quarter of the way around the mountain, we come to Lgamerross' shop. Sure is a colorful building!
Our old hide-y hole, and original wheat farm, in relation to where Sky resources is.
Our last stop for today is right there. That is the community garden. The hide-y hole is somewhere behind me.
Here we are!
Here, anybody can take as much as they need from the garden, and help look after the plants.
This concludes my tour of our server world. I hope you enjoyed seeing around, and now that I've done the tours I've been wanting to do, I can start writing more about what I've been up to in Minecraft each day!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! See you next post. Until then!

Tour of my Survival Single-Player world - part 3
Welcome back to my tour of my world. Today, I am going to be covering some of the more distant areas of my world, and showing off the interior of my two towers. Today, I will be traveling with portals in and out of the Nether, so please don't get confused when I travel dimensions.
First, I think I'll show off the interior of Stardust Tower and Demonsplash Tower, for those of you that want to see.
Stardust Tower - first floor
Stardust Tower - second floor
I'm sure some of you would like to see inside my chests. If so, here are some of my more important chests:
Main floor chest:
Second floor chest:
Music Disc Chests:
Extra disc chest:
My enderchest universal contents:
Potion chest - Demonsplash tower: (first floor)
Crafting station chest - Demonsplash Tower: (first floor)
Okay, now that I'm done showing off my loot, On to the interior of Demonsplash Tower.
Laboratory (First floor)
Library (second floor)
Bedroom (third floor)
Oh, yeah. those are my two cats, Shadow and Potion.
Guest bedroom (also third floor)
Now that the boring stuff is done, Let's enter the Nether!
I went back to Stardust Valley for the night. I Got my flint and steel, and am now ready for an adventure!
My Nether portal, next to a night shelter. I built this one myself, and was able to get away without the corners. The Nether one only has corners because it was auto-generated, and Minecraft always generates portals with the corners.
Here we are! This is the Nether equivalent of my portal in the normal world. I will be heading down that tunnel in the corner.
Alright, I made it to our next destination. I came from WAAY up there. I decended using a gravel pillar that I left when I was last here. Here, I'll show you guys where I am.
Here it is! This is what I came for. This is an old portal that generated when I first came to the Nether. Of course, I lived at a different location, back then. However, this portal is inactive. I'll light it with my flint and steel lighter in a moment. Actually, The reason it is deactivated is, because, the original portal setup was kinda wonky. To fix it, I went in with a map editor and removed the swirly portal blocks from all my portals. The portals work normally now, and I have re-lit the one at the nether fortress, which I come to for certain materials some times. I wanted to teleport to the main world from there, but I haven't had a reason to re-light this one, so it remains unlit.
For those of you that have Nether ; D seen the Nether, allow me to explain this place. The Nether is a dark, spooky realm, as you can see. This red stuff is Netherrack, a stone that is native to the Nether. It is quite easy to mine, not very blast resistant, and when lit, will burn forever, though fire will never spread to it from another block. That gold, glowing rock is glowstone. It is glass-like in nature. When broken, it disintegrates into glowstone dust, which can be used to make potions stronger, or can be used to re-assemble the block. The creatures that live here are ghasts, large ghost-like creatures that shoot fireballs when they see you, and Zombie pigmen, neutral creatures that only attack you if you hurt one, or if one sees another get hurt, Magma Cubes, uncommon, burgundy slime-like creatures that will attack you on sight, and Blazes, yellow, alien-ish creatures that are nothing but a head, body of smoke, and a few rotating rods around their smoke body. Blazes can shoot fireballs too, but unlike the ghast.
So, that`s the Nether in a nutshell. Now, back to my portal.
Here we are out in the normal world, out on the big, ol' tundra. In front of me is some floating snow. It is not allowed to do this, and any nearby block change will cause it to vanish.
The nearest portal with the netherrack around the base is the first portal I ever built. The back one... the game created it, but that's a long story. ...Fine, I'll tell, but quickly.
When I tried to fix the portals before, by breaking my original portal, because I thought it would connect to the one in Stardust Valley, the game made that one instead.
Right behind me is our next point of interest. Let's head over there!
Bingo! This is my old hidey hole. Oh, the memories!
I actually spent quite a while living here. I have some wolves here that I tamed a long time ago, too.
Okay, Here's my story. When you spawn in this world, the taiga is behind your back. So, when I first generated this world, I ran off into the tundra, not knowing it existed. I built my first shelter in that cliff, following Paulsoaresjr's instructions from an outdated tutorial he made on minecraft.net. About a month or so later, I saw the taiga on a mapping tool, and walked there. Eventually, I ended up discovering a mountain beginning to generate on the same mapping tool. I walked there, and ended up building Stardust Valley, and everything went from there.
The main room of my hide-y hole, or as I like to call the place, Fire Hill.
The area behind my hill.
The front entrance, where the original coal vein was. I did try to decorate.
The cave where my first diamonds were found, and an unfinished rail to an old cabin, way out on the tundra. The taiga is in the opposite direction the rail goes. This photo was taken just in front of Fire Hill.
The back entrance of the hide-y hole.
Well, this ends my tour. I don't have any plans of going to the abandoned cabin, so sorry if you wanted to see it. If I go there, (Which I have no reason to,) I will for sure write about it. I am going to portal back to Stardust Valley now, and take my first diamond and wooden pickaxe with me, to go in my memories/trophy collection back at Stardust Tower.
See you next post! Until then!
