Traditional Japanese-Style House and Garden in Minecraft!

Hello, I'm N8thanH, and welcome back to Across The Map!

About maybe two weeks ago, (I'm not sure, I'm no good at keeping track of when things happen) I decided to build a traditional Japanese house and garden, because I have been doing some research on Japan. It is mostly traditional-style, but with some modern luxuries, and I didn't have the time to make walls that can be toggled. It just wouldn't have worked.

First of all, I'd like to show you guys where it is, because hey, everyone likes to know where the player they are following is in the world.

Here I am on the server. If you have read my server world tour post, you may remember this portal of mine. Then, I had nothing there, so I didn't show you guys what's on the other side of the portal. I'm not doing a full tour today, as much as I'd like to, but I also did a tour last post, so I figured I'd just showcase this house today. It has been long enough anyway.

So, let's jump through the Nether portal!

Here we are on the other side! Hmm. Maybe I'll do something fancy with this portal, but I digress.

Behind me is my farm tower! I get a lot of my food from here.

Here's my house! Just thought that while I'm here flying around on creative, I guess I could show it to you guys. However, I'm not gonna show you guys the inside today.

From the back.

Hey, look who came to play!!! A zombie pigman! Actually, this is the second I've had spawn in by the portal.

Allow me to switch my game mode for a 'momento.
Where was I? Right. GET OFF MY LAWN!!! >:D

Don't mind that little scene.  Aaanyway, I'm back in creative mode. The Japanese house is off this way. In fact, you can see the rooftop now.
I'll meet you all there!

Here it is! This is the front of the house. Oh, yes. I switched from FreshCraft to the default textures, because I think the rougher textures suit the textures better.

And for those of you who were wondering, yes, this house, like everything else on this server, was done on survival mode (I am only using creative to show you guys around my territory) and one hundred percent legitimately.

This is the entrance, as seen from inside. Not much in this room. I have some pretend rice-paper walls (light gray wool) and tatami floors (birch wood planks).

Here's the kitchen. It is a simpler version of what Fire_Cat2000 and I usually build.

The dining room. It has a traditional low table, and cushions for sitting. It is also worth pointing out the oak Bonsai Tree.

Across the house, we have the living room, or den. This is probably where you would entertain your guests when you have your friends over.

Here's the story here, with the stairs.
When I was toying around with the furniture shop in Nintendogs + Cats for the Nintendo 3DS, I found something called a 'Stair Chest'. The description said it was a piece of traditional Japanese furniture, once used as a staircase. I thought It'd be neat to implement into this house, so yeah.

Upstairs, there are three separated sleeping areas, and a pet cushion.

I also added plenty of storage. To be honest, I don't use these chests. This house has not really been used, either. But hey, it's (the house and storage space) here if I want it.

Back on the main floor, we'll be heading out through here, next.

Welcome to the garden! The side with the sand is a Zen garden, the other is a standard-traditional Japanese garden. I got creative with the Nether Wart, and I have wooden walkways like in the movie: The Karate Kid.

Below: some more focused angles of the two styles of garden.

Oh, yeah. First, I have to cover something very important: the Impromptu Random Bonus Screenshot of the Day!

I admit that this screenshot is quite old, but still hilarious!
Here we have a spider that climbed into my window, to an unexpected surprise!

My caption: you shouldn't have come here, spidey. (Read in menacing voice. >:) )

Anyway, here are the two angles of the garden, as promised.

One last aerial view of the house!

Well, that's all I have to show you guys for today! As always, please comment, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

I'm N8thanH, and I'll see you all next post. Until then!
